• Enjoy Our Challenging Golf Course Set In Beautiful Surroundings - Wigan Golf Club is based in Wigan, Lancashire. It was established in 1898 and is an 18-hole, par 70 (6,029 yard), private, parkland golf course. The cub dates back to 1898 and the historic club house, known as Arley Hall, is surrounded by a beautiful 12th Century moat.

• Something for Everyone. Our Ladies Section is a group of vibrant, friendly ladies, who wholeheartedly welcome any new members and guests. In addition Wigan GC have recently become a signatory to the R&A Women in Golf Charter. WGC are committed to further developing a more inclusive culture within golf so more women and girls can develop across all levels of the sport. The commitments and targets we have set our selves will ensure that we continue to develop our sport in all areas of our club, from club governance to recruitment and retention. Our Juniors and Senior sections are thriving.

• We offer A Full Events Calendar Both on And Off The Course. - Regular competitions throughout the year provide members with a variety of golf formats. These include fun team events, individual medals, prestigious board and trophy competitions and inter-club matches.

• On behalf of the LCSLGA I would like to thank Wigan Golf Club for kindly hosting the above competition. We are extremely grateful to you and everyone at the club but in particular would like to mention Kerry who helped with the organisation; Jane who helped as starter and the help from the office staff when a decision had to made with regards to the weather. The club worked hard to help make up time in the afternoon following the weather delay…our organisers were extremely grateful for your support. As always, Wigan GC have been a pleasure to work with.Thank you for facilitating a very efficient planning meeting. 
• The course was well presented and provided a fitting test for the ladies who took part despite the inclement weather.

• Yesterday despite the inclement weather in the afternoon, around 120 ladies and gentlemen enjoyed a super day of golf and hospitality. This was made possible by the fabulous team at Wigan Golf Club who not only helped our planning but also engaged their own staff and volunteer members on registration, starting and car parking. The hospitality and catering was first class and the Club Shop also helped us source all the prizes, thank you to all at Wigan Golf Club. - Wigan Youth Zone - 14th July 2023

• I am writing to thank you and Wigan Golf Club for the way that you hosted the Collinge Trophy on Wednesday 10th May. It was a great event, which all the players thoroughly enjoyed, both on and off the course.Everyone at the club went out of their way to ensure that the whole day went smoothly. Your greens staff are to be complimented on the course condition given the poor weather leading up to the event. I would also like to thank your catering team for providing us with food and beverages throughout the day. • "I had never played golf before! I came through the ranks of the Arley Academy coached by Tony Byrom, and met lots of like-minded new friends.  My first occasion on the course was in Winter of 2018, and if ever I was going to give up golf, it was then, but the comradery of fellow Stepping Stone Members and the WGC members spurred me on. I recognised quite quickly that being protected inside the Academy walls with Tony correcting my grip, stance, and many other habits, was totally different from standing on the 1st Tee . Everyone was patient and totally supportive.  I had no problem in finding a ‘friend’ to venture out onto the course with me.  We became ‘all weather’ Buddies. I continued with my coaching during my Stepping Stone Membership and in no time at all the 10 sessions on the course had gone………… I was hooked, without any hesitation I joined as a 3 day member, and now have a handicap and play golf regularly with members’  I can’t get enough golf, and along with enjoying the social aspect, and the welcome I have received from everyone, there is no better Golf Club than Wigan Golf Club. From beginners to professionals everyone is welcomed at the same level. Since joining as a 3 day member, I have been to Portugal with the ladies that I met through coaching and played on numerous quality courses, and look forward to many more enjoyable trips. • Just a brief note to put on record my grateful thanks to all at Wigan Golf Club for the kindness, courtesy and efficiency shown to our group during our visit yesterday.
• During our golfing year I organise several away days for our seniors group and I have found that our visit to your club has been one of the easiest I have arranged.

Course Status

Wigan: Course open. 12 Holes, 1-9, 16-18. A mix of full greens and temporary greens. No buggies or ride ons are allowed Please use fairway mats .Please take care on slopes, banks and any wet areas.
