Membership Enquiries

Wigan Golf Club is a private members club, providing all members with fine facilities for golf, along with an excellent social scene. we are particularly proud of the true "club" spirit that we have engendered over many years at Wigan, with a real emphasis on providing an environment where members can fully enjoy the game of golf and the social opportunities a club can offer.

We currently have some 300 male members, 55 ladies and 35 juniors. The men hold competitions every Saturday between April and October, and on Wednesdays May - September. They have Teams in Inter-club tournaments and also operate a very enjoyable Winter league. There is a strong Seniors section who play Mondays and regular matches with local clubs.

Our ladies section has a very full calender of competitive golf. Up to 40 ladies compete every Tuesday. They also run two teams in the Bronze & silver League.

Our Junior section is very strong, competing in club events, area knock-out competitions and play in the South Lancs Junior League.

Standard of Dress Code

Standard of Dress - Course / Clubhouse

The standard of dress to be adopted at ALL times is a minimum of smart casual,

• Shirts must be worn inside trousers / shorts.
• Gentlemen, If you propose to wear tailored shorts on the course, then they must be accompanied by knee length socks.
• The wearing of jeans, trainers, tracksuits, shellsuits, collarless shirts (T-shirts/sweatshirts)etc. is NOT permitted on the Course or in the Clubhouse.
• The wearing of golf shoes whilst playing is mandatory. Golf shoes are NOT allowed anywhere else in the Clubhouse with the exception of the changing rooms.
  

Could we kindly draw your attention to our Dress code for the dining room and for the clubhouse on Saturday evenings.

• Gentlemen MUST wear Jacket and tie in the dinning room at all times and on Saturdays in the clubhouse after 6.30pm.

Members / visitors are responsible for any damage or injury they might cause on the Clubs property, or to other people there; and that they should have their own appropriate insurance.
