Visiting Party Information
We hope you enjoy your forthcoming visit to Wigan Golf Club. I can assure you of a very warm welcome, and hope the following guidelines will be helpful.
Please ensure that you contact the Club, 14 days before the event with the proposed numbers in the party, and to finalise the menu for dinner and any other catering arrangements, i.e. lunch or coffee and bacon sandwiches on arrival.
Pre- ordering ensures the smooth running of your day and is greatly appreciated.
The Club also requires confirmation of actual numbers for the Catering ,48 hours prior to your visit. Any meals cancelled later than this, will be liable for payment.

Could I kindly draw your attention to our dress code:
- Gentlemen must wear Jacket and Tie in the Dining Room at all times.
The usual dress code for the game of golf applies. I’m sure your party will avoid the following:
- Trainers, denim, shirt tails out of trousers, collarless T shirts, Caps worn back to front.
- Gentlemen, If you propose to wear tailored shorts on the course, then they must be accompanied by knee length socks. (The steward does have a small supply of knee length socks for sale behind the bar)
I do hope you will convey our dress code to your members.
Visitors are responsible for any damage or injury they might cause on the Club’s property, or to other people there; and must have appropriate insurance.
On arrival
Please introduce yourself to the Assistant Secretary, Andrea or Steward, Stewardess, Ian and Marcia McVinnie, they will make sure your day will be enjoyable. The secretary's office is located at the head of the stairs on the 1st floor.
If your party is planning to play 9 holes in the morning followed by 18 holes in the afternoon then we recommend that you play holes 1 to 9 then follow the signs back to the clubhouse.
Course planners are available to purchase from the bar at £3.50.
The club does not have a Pro shop, but the resident steward has a small selection of logo golf balls, ball makers and pitch repairers and trolley handles.
We look forward to your visit, should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us on 01257 421360
